The Nelson Monument was erected in the 1810’s to commemorate Vice Admiral Horatio Nelson’s 1805 victory at Trafalgar. It can be found at the peak of the historic Calton Hill. Designed by architect Robert Burn, it is one of the most iconic monuments in the capital. There is a public viewing gallery at the top where you can enjoy a wonderful view over the city.
