The Museum of Edinburgh is a must for anyone visiting the capital. Free to the public, it is a great place to learn about the history of the city. It’s located in a beautiful 16th century mansion called ‘Huntly House’ – sometimes referred to as ‘The Speaking House’. The items displayed tell the story of Edinburgh’s history, from its origins to the present day. Its sister museum, the ‘People’s Story’ museum, is located opposite and is also well worth visiting.
