Seacliff Beach

This beach sits just over 4 miles from North Berwick. Drive along the A198 for approximately 12 minutes and you will find this beautiful and intriguing hidden gem.

Park your car and take a short walk through the woods to the beach and see what you can find. Not only is this a lovely beach to spend the day in with the family but there is so much more to see.

You can’t miss the Bass Rock of course which can be seen clearly from here. If the tide is out you can walk across the rock pools to the tiniest of harbours known as The Gegan. (please be careful though to ensure you get back before the tide comes in) Walk along the beach to the west to find a stunning view of Tantallon Castle.

To the east of the beach look out for a stone beacon marked by a cross to find the jagged rocks of St Baldred’s Boat. Look south through the trees and see if you can spot the ruins of Seacliff House. You may also be able to spot the remains of Auldhame Castle to the west of the beach.
