Anstruther is the largest of a number of quaint fishing villages along the east coast of Fife about 20 – 30 minutes from St Andrews depending on whether you take the coastal or inland route. Take a walk around its harbour and see its fishing boats and pleasure craft, enjoy a trip back in time at its Scottish Fisheries Museum or a walk round its cobbled streets with its fishermen’s cottages, pretty gardens and historic buildings.
If you are feeling more energetic try a game of golf at Anstruther links course, take a trip to the tennis courts or enjoy a variety of watersports at the East Neuk Outdoors centre in Cellerdyke. There are also boat trips to nearby Isle of May from May to September where you can see puffins up close. Anstruther has a number of restaurants and bars and of course its famous award winning fish and chip shop at the harbour.
