The Horse Shoe Bar is one of Glasgow’s best loved pubs. It’s situated in Glasgow City Centre very close to Central Station and has barely changed in the last 100 years, with many of its original fixtures and fittings still there. It was opened in 1884 by Cavalry Captain John Scouller and provides a no nonsense pub with great beer and cheap food. It’s no wonder it’s popular with the locals. It has a unique horseshoe shaped island bar which was originally there to allow staff to keep a closer eye on the behaviour of its customers.
