Departs from Mallaig
This full-day cruise with Minch Adventures departs from the Mallaig Yacht Pontoons and heads northwest, up past the Strathaird peninsula with its sheer cliff face that gives the appearance of a medieval castle disappearing into the sea. The trip takes visitors to this beautiful anchorage, into Loch Scavaig and right to the very mouth of Loch Coruisk.
This landscape is to be enjoyed not only from the deck of a boat. Once at anchor, this cruise means visitors can take part in some walking and exploration of the foothills, which provides many opportunities for memorable photographs of this tremendous landscape. Once back on-board guests can have the opportunity to dine on a luxury seafood lunch for an additional cost of £50.00 pp.
Apart from the majesty of Loch Couisk, during this trip visitors can expect to visit the Spar cave. This is one of the Scotland’s wonders and not to be missed. We may also spend some time enjoying good sea angling for such common species as large lythe, ballan wrasse, Pollock, saith and mackerel.
Last but not least, visitors can appreciate wildlife that includes the popular seal colony that is resident at the mouth of Loch Coruisk In fact, when we shut off the engines and drift, while fishing, our vessel Cyfish allows visitors to view the wildlife of the Highlands and Islands with an intimacy that is difficult to achieve elsewhere.
