INTRODUCTION

Glen Dye is a private estate of around 30,000 acres of wilderness forest and moorland set in ‘bonnie’ Kincardineshire, 25 miles South-West of Aberdeen. Surrounded by magnificent hills and forest, you will find ‘The Sawmill’ which is described as “a private outdoors paradise” – and we couldn’t agree more! The Sawmill is just one of three choices of accommodation that Glen Dye Cabins & Cottages offer, alongside the ‘North Lodge & River Cabin’ and ‘No 4 Steading Cottage’.
STYLE/CHARACTER
The Sawmill’ is far from just accommodation, it is an adventure! This outdoors retreat is your very own part of the wilderness for you to call home. All set up with a fully refurbished 1955 Airstream Safari caravan where you will sleep on a giant comfortable bed! Guided by the twinkling lights you will find a cosy bathroom with hot shower, and further along the path sits your kitchen, dining room and sitting room in a wonderful wooden building originally created in the late 1800s as a kitchen, refuge and seed store for the estate foresters and now completely updated inside. You will also enjoy your own outdoor wood-fired hot tub and a wonderful outdoor shower created in the bones of the abandoned sawmill. An opportunity not to be missed is cooking outdoors on ‘The Big Green Egg’ barbeque.
