SCENERY
Ardnamurchan has some fantastic scenery, from the heights of Ben Hiant to the many lochs and forests that dot the landscape.
WILDLIFE
Many come here solely to see the diverse wildlife of the area. A great variety of birds make Ardnamurchan their home, including oyster catchers, merlins, and golden eagles. In addition, people come from all over just to see the red deer rut in autumn.
FISHING
Ardnamurchan is a wonderful vacation spot for fishing enthusiasts, due to the many lochs in this area of Scotland. There are also lots of other outdoor pursuits you can try your hand at, including cycling, canoeing and kayaking.
HISTORY
If you have an interest in Scottish history, you’ll find lots to investigate here. Mingary castle has been carefully restored in recent years, and is worth visiting if you want to learn about local history. It’s also worth seeing ‘Castle Tioram’, located just west of Acharacle.
