WHERE TO EAT IN INVERNESS
Since Inverness is such a tourist hot spot, you’ll be well catered for when it comes to cafés and restaurants. There’s a great mix of different options, from traditional tea rooms to trendy cafés. Be sure to try local delicacies like fresh oat cakes and shortbread if you spot them on the menu. Some of the cafés have fantastic locations overlooking Loch Ness. You’ll also find tea rooms in most of the historic castles you visit.
There’s a wide selection of restaurants to choose from. As well as the usual chain stores, you can also find Michelin-star restaurants showcasing international cuisine. There are also bistros serving more traditional food. Try to find somewhere you can sample local food such as haggis and black pudding, so you can get fully into the Scottish mood.
Here are some of the best restaurants and cafes in the area.
