Sandwood Bay has 1.5 miles of pink sand, a loch, cliffs, a sea stack and huge sand dunes so it’s little wonder it is said to be the best beach in Britain. A trip to this beach is a delight but be prepared for a long walk to get to it. You can park at the car park at Blairmore and go through the gate where you’ll see a sign to let you know it’s a 4.5 mile walk to the beach. Don’t be tempted to cycle or take a buggy as some of the path isn’t suitable for these. The trek to reach it is not for everyone but that’s part of the joy of this beach as it really is secluded and never busy.
