Grey Mare’s Tail, Moffat Hills
Grey Mare’s Tail is looked after by the National Trust for Scotland. This waterfall cascades down some 60m into the Moffat Water Valley from Loch Skeen. It’s an amazing sight and well worth stopping to take a look and maybe a picture or two. If you park at the main car park it’s an easy walk suitable for all abilities to the viewing area where you can sit and be mesmerised for ages by this waterfall. If you are feeling more energetic and able for a two hour walk you can take the trail from the car park all the way up to Loch Skeen. On the way look out for peregrine falcons, ospreys and ferel goats, rare upland plants and breathtaking views.
