Glamis Castle

Glamis Castle is truly spectacular from the moment you see it from the grand mile long entrance after going under the Queen Mother Memorial Gates in Glamis village. It has been built in stages and has been a royal building since it was a royal hunting lodge at least back as far as Malcolm II in the 11th century. It is steeped in royal history but is more characteristic of a royal home than a museum. It is currently the Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne’s family home. It’s a great place for a day out with the history and grandeur of the building itself and also the variety of gardens, walks and trails to suit all the family.
