Crovie, pronounced Crivie is a charming seaside village huddled at the foot of dramatic 300ft cliffs.  It offers visitors a haven of tranquillity with no roads, shops or phone signal.

We arrived around 8am with the weather calm and peaceful. There is a small visitor car park at he top of the hill which offers a fantastic viewpoint of the town. Visitors are asked to park their cars here rather than closer to the village.

After taking a while to take in the view, we ventured down the steep road which leads to Crovie.

This unique place was established by families cleared from inland estates in the late eighteenth century. The village consists of one row of 50 cottages, and makes for a very enjoyable stroll through.

It’s a region is often overlooked by tourists, It’s an area full of surprises and within 4 miles of Crovie you will find Gardenstown, Pennan and the stunning Troup Head.

Tip – head to the Coastal Cuppie in Pennan for some delicious cakes and ice cream.
