‘The Chip’ as it’s affectionately known by Glaswegians, offers the very best of carefully selected, sustainable Scottish ingredients and one of Scotland’s finest wine and whisky lists. Created by Ronnie Clydedale over 43 years ago, who used a redundancy cheque from his former job as the manager of the Black & White whisky bond to start his culinary career, and create the Ubiquitous Chip. The Chip was a revelation in the city at the time, Ronnie is now said to have been single-handedly responsible for changing the way Glaswegians eat. It’s located in the cities Ashton Lane, a gorgeous cobbled backstreet in Glasgow’s West End. Once inside you will experience a cosy and intimate ambience which is full of plants and bohemian style decor. This hidden gem in one of Glasgow’s most beautiful street’s is a must visit when visiting Glasgow West.
