Three Lochs Forest Drive

If you’d prefer to enjoy the scenery of the Trossachs from your car, Forest Drive is the road to take. Lasting for just seven miles, the drive will take you past three of the region’s most beautiful lochs – Loch Achray, Lochan Reoidhte and Loch Drunkie. There’s also plenty of wildlife to be spotted, including red squirrels and osprey in the lochs.

The Three Lochs Forest Drive offers visitors the chance to enjoy 3 stunningly beautiful lochs and forest trails on this 7.5 mile circuit.

It takes you on a journey through lochs Reòidhte, Drunkie and Achray as well as traversing through some beautiful landscapes and forest trails.

There are lots of opportunities along the way to stop and get your walking boots on to fill your lungs with the fresh air of this beautiful area.

The route was launched in 1977 to celebrate the Silver Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II and starts around two miles north of Aberfoyle.

Please be aware that the cost of taking this route is £2 per car and is payable via a machine at the entrance barrier.

So pack a picnic, look out the walking boots and prepare yourself for a day of exploring some of the most breathtaking scenery Loch Lomond has to offer.
