Threave Gardens and Estate is a must for nature lovers. There are lots of different styles of gardens to discover and enjoy, a walled garden, children’s discovery garden, rockery, rose garden, secret garden, cascades, ponds and glasshouses. The Estate has a bat reserve with eight different species of bat. It also has an osprey viewing platform and wildlife hides. Look out for peregrine falcons, red kites, pink footed geese and red squirrels as well as some rare and interesting fauna and flora whilst on the Estate. Take a walk on one of the woodland trails and enjoy some great views of the Galloway Hills and the Dee Valley. Take a tour of Threave House or a boat trip across to a little island on the river to see Threave Castle.
