The Dinnie Stones

While opportunities to explore history are plentiful in Aberdeenshire, the Dinnie Stones are one of the few ways to make it. The legendary lifting stones weigh a titanic 733lb (414lb and 318lb respectively) and have been used as exact models for weightlifting competitions since their rediscovery in 1953. Named for 19th-century Scottish strongman Donald Dinnie who carried the stones barehanded across Potarch Bridge, only 6 individuals have recreated his feat and etched their names alongside Dinnie. If you think you have what it takes, then the Ballogie Estate team is on hand to record any attempt!
