A highlight of Dundee’s City Square is two bronze statues in honour of the Dandy and Beano’s favourite characters. Unveiled in 2001 by local primary school children, it is partially a homage to the two characters’ creators, Leo Baxendale and Dudley D Watkins, who spent many years living and working in Dundee as cartoonists.
