Rock Salt & Sole

As Aberdonian as granite, fish and chips should be a staple of any trip to the county. Hidden in Banchory, Rock Salt & Sole (and the family behind it) only opened their doors in July 2017 but have quickly earned a reputation for crispy, flaky fish sustainably sourced from the nearby village of Gourdon. While their traditional menu is exceptional enough on its own, part of what makes Rock Salt & Sole so special is their expansive seafood platter. The benefits of living within a stone’s throw of the sea, the platter comes with everything from lemon Sole and rock turbot all the way to battered lobster.
