With their distinctive bottle shape, these unique Edinburgh kilns are some of the last remaining in the country. Confined to a suburb of the city, the kilns were first lit up in the early 20th century, encouraged by Edinburgh’s growth during the Industrial Revolution. Though no longer functioning kilns, these were fully renovated in 2020 and are a great symbol of the city’s industrial heritage.
