NextMount Stuart House & Gardens is located on the Isle of Bute just four miles from the ferry terminal at Rothesay. If you are planning a trip to Rothesay then why not make the short journey out to see this outstanding gothic ancestral home of the Marguess of Bute.
Set in 300 acres of grounds this is a ‘must see’ if you can plan your trip around it. As well as the gardens, grounds and house there is a Visitor Centre, shop, play area, picnic area and restaurant.
As for the house itself it is simply stunning. Features include Victorian Gothic architecture, an 80 ft high Marble Hall, Marble Chapel, Swimming Room, Gothic arches and stained glass.
It is worth taking note that you can actually buy your tickets for Mount Stuart House as part of your ferry ticket from Wemyss Bay to Rothesay.
