Mellerstain house is an 18th Century Mansion built by architect William Adam.
William Adam was one of Scotland’s most successful architects and Mellerstain house is thought to be the only remaining complete building which he designed.
The mansion stands within 80 hectares of beautiful parkland and gardens and is open to the public until late September.
It makes for a very interesting day out, with many guides within the house to answer any questions you may have. There is also a great cafe called The Courtyard Cafe which visitors can visit to enjoy some great tasting refreshments to help fuel a day exploring these majestic surroundings.
