Lochore Castle

Dating back to the 14th century, Lochore Castle is just southeast of Cowdenbeath. Once a traditional motte-and-bailey castle that has now been reduced to a tower house, the structure stands atop a mound that used to be surrounded by the waters of Loch Ore – hence its distinctive name.
