Planning on taking a journey on The Road to the Isles from Fort William to Mallaig? This is a journey you won’t forget, the loch, glen and mountainous scenery is breath-taking. Lochailort is a good stopping place along the route. It’s just off the A830, 25 miles from Fort William. You can get there by car, train or bus from Fort William.
Lochailort itself is a rugged mountainous landscape ideal of outdoor lovers especially hillwalkers. There are walks for all levels from a country stroll to a Munro. There are also mountain bike tracks. For those who love the water you will find you can go canoeing or kayaking nearby.
The Lochailort Inn can provide you with good food, drink and hospitality and there are a number of cottages and B&Bs nearby if you want to rest before continuing your journey on to the Isles.
