Loch Iubhair & Loch Dochart

Described by English author and poet Dorothy Wordsworth as ‘a place of retirement and peace’.

These two beautiful lochs lie in the outstanding Glen Dochart, surrounded by mountains and forests, around one mile from Crianlarich.

There’s a great walk that starts from a roadside car park near Ledcharrie Farm. This route ventures through the Glen passing a railway viaduct, atmospheric waterfalls and fantastic viewpoints of Stob Binnein and Ben More.

Keep your eyes peeled for Loch Dochart Castle, a three story ruined tower house on a small island on the loch. It was constructed in the 16th century by Sir Duncan Campbell of Glenorchy.
