These two lochs and the beautiful Garten pinewoods they lie beside are a hotspot for bird enthusiasts. The forest is home to a rare species of birds called the capercaillie. However, the region is most well-known for its ospreys, which you can see up close at the ‘Loch Garten Osprey Centre’. You can also find crossbills and crested tits if you keep your eyes open. Starting at the Loch Gardon Osprey Centre this walk takes you round the RSPB Nature Reserve, passed Loch Mallachie. Great views and wildlife to be spotted here.
