Loch Awe is around 24 miles long and fairly narrow with Ben Cruachan in the background.
There are some lovely walks nearby in particular out to Kilchurn Castle and along the lower slopes of Cruachan. This is a great loch for fishing as the fish thrive in its pure rich water.
You will find wild brown trout, rainbow trout, char, perch and pike. Remember to get your fishing permit first though from the local store, boat hire or service station. You can hire a row boat, cabin boat or motor boat for the day for your fishing trip or just to enjoy a trip around the loch.
You may be lucky enough to see one of the birds of prey from the Kintail Birds of Prey centre flying over the loch.
