Hutton’s Unconformity

A name given to Scotland’s notable geological sites, Hutton’s Unconformity describes the junction between two rock formations. It was on Arran in 1787 that Hutton is believed to have found the first example of his unconformity near Lochranza. Nowadays, it can be found by a marker stone built by the Arran Geopark Project.
