Once the seat of one of the most powerful families in Scotland, Huntly Castle boasts what must surely be some of the most amazing heraldic architecture, as befitting the home of the previous Earls of Huntly.
Now a towering, noble ruin, it sits in its own majestic setting just outside of Huntly, a picturesque market town worth exploring in its own right. With French influences obvious in various parts of the building, there is plenty left to see and admire in this ruin.
