The Aberdeenshire landscapes are filled with walking opportunities for climbers of all experience levels. Casting a long shadow over the River Dee, walking the Hill of Maryfield is a surprisingly gentle affair. Taking around three hours in total, the path takes walkers through a scenic tour through the forests and valleys of the Banchory countryside.
Most visitors to the Hill of Maryfield use it as an opportunity to view the scenic River Dee, as well as the countless salmon that populate it. The grassy clearing of the summit offers climbers a panoramic view of the rolling countryside and flowing streams, a beautiful reward for a not-too-arduous walk.
