Britain’s first open-air museum, the Highland Folk Museum was first opened in 1935 to showcase the diverse elements of Scottish folk heritage. With three separate areas that recreate buildings from the 17th to the 20th century, its 1700s village was used as a filming location in the first series of Outlander.
