Opposite the imposing figure of Dunnottar Castle, the 160-acres of Halymyres Stables are stunning for any level of rider. As well as offering longer-term loan options for horses, the fully trained team offers a range of lessons for individuals or parties of up to six people. For those who are already comfortable on horseback, you will find Halymyres staff can accommodate and teach even the most advanced of riders.
If you have never ridden a horse before, this is the perfect opportunity to try. The stables offer guided hacks (gentle rides across the grounds) for groups, making it a wonderful way to spend a sunny day. Given the unpredictability of the Aberdonian climate, Halymyres has state-of-the-art arenas indoors and outdoors, ensuring lessons can go ahead under any conditions.
