Overlooking a stretch of beach, the ruins of Greenan Castle are all that remain of this 16th-century towerhouse. Largely a fortified location against attack, the castle was occupied for many years by the Kennedy family, before being left to ruins – though an inscription for owner John Kennedy and his wife Florence remains at the entrance.
