The Govan Stones

The Govan Stones are a collection of stone monuments that date back to the Vikings in AD 870. They are considered to be one of the best collections of Medieval sculpture in Britain.  These stones include hogbacks, tombstones and monolithic sarcophagi. They can be found in Govan Old Church next to the Clyde. If you look across the river from the Café in the Riverside Museum you get a good view of this old church.
