University of Glasgow

Glasgow University was founded in 1451 and is the second oldest in Scotland. You don’t need to be a student to explore some of its oldest and most interesting buildings. You can get a visitor’s self-guided tour here.  Start at the Welcome Point beside the main gate. Take a look at the Quadrangles, the Cloisters, the Gift Shop, the Memorial Gates, Professors’ Square, the Chapel, the Lion and Unicorn Stairs, Lord Kelvin’s House, the Principal’s Lodgings, the Flagpole and the Gilbert Scott Building. Visit the Hunterian Museum, the Hunterian Art Gallery or the Mackintosh House.
