The small island of Fidra can be found only 300m off the mainland at Yellowcraig beach. The best way to experience Fidra is to start at the Scottish Seabird Centre at North Berwick.
Here you can either see the wildlife close up by using controllable live cameras from the centre or you can take a boat trip to the island. Depending on the time of year you could spot fulmers, peregrine falcon, puffins, gulls, razorbills or guillemots. As well as the wildlife look out for a lighthouse and an old chapel.
Also did you know that there was known to be an old castle on the SE of the island known as the old castle of Endbottle or Tarbet Castle. This is not easy to find now although part of a wall still remains.
