Edderton is a village near the burgh of Tain in Ross County. Around four hundred people currently live there. Despite its small size, the village has a number of things that draw tourists to it.
There are some important historical sites here. Sitting in the graveyard you’ll find Edderton Cross Slab; a red sandstone slab constructed by the ancient Picts. If you head over to the nearby Tain Museum, there are fragments of similar slabs there as well.
Balblair Distillery is also historically important. The whisky distillery is currently owned by Inver House Distillers, but dates back to 1790. It has a visitor centre that is open throughout the year.
