The Steading Cottage is hidden in a peaceful glen of the Pentlands Hills surrounded by rugged heather hills, long walks & spectacular views. Explore the stunning landscapes & nearby Edinburgh – or just curl up by a roaring fire in your hilltop hideaway. Originally an 18th Century hay-shed, The Steading has been lovingly converted with heaps of rural character & charm.
A light and spacious open-plan kitchen (with the occasional sheep peering in the window!) makes self-catering a joy. Watch the ever-changing landscape from the window or, in the evenings, gather around the wood-burning stove. A spiral staircase leads up to bed where warm duvets await. Wake to birdsong and admire the spectacular Scottish scenery from the bedroom window. Facilities include a wood burning stove, Wifi, Freesat TV, a selection of DVDs, books and games.
The cottage sits within an 18th Century farmstead, surrounded by the Pentland Hills. The farm is an unspoilt working hill sheep farm and part of a Regional Park. The Farm & Park cover large areas of beautiful & rugged hilly countryside to the south of Edinburgh. The cottage nestles right in the heart of the hills within a valley that abounds with walking routes & wildlife. Peregrines & Ravens nest nearby and are often spotted on the hiking route to the local pub.
