Mysterious symbols of unknown origin are carved into these dynamic rocks, settled in an area of real prehistoric intrigue. Believed to have been carved between 3500 and 1000 BC, the rocks are close to a nearby set of standing stones. Though the reason for the formation is unclear, the name is derived from the Gaelic meaning ‘ridge of the quarrel’.
