This ancient standing stone is quite out of place in its suburban Edinburgh home. It’s remarkable to think that it has been standing for around 5000 years. In the past, it was thought to have been put there to commemorate a battle between the ancient Picts and Romans. This theory has since been debunked, and archaeologists now believe that it was erected around the year 3000 BC and probably marked a ritual or burial site. It is a very special location that is a must see for tourists in Edinburgh.
