Ardoe House

Ardoe House Hotel is a beautiful baronial 19th century mansion set in 30 acres of tranquil countryside just 3 miles away from the city centre. Originally built by Soap merchant Alexander Ogston the hotel retains many of its original features and oozes plenty of character.

Ardoe House is also home to its own ghost, also referred to as ‘The White Lady’ who lingers by a painting of the previous owner’s wife, Katherine Ogston who lived in the mansion from 1839. Because of this, some believe the ghost is that of Mrs Ogston herself while others believe that it is the ghost of a former owner who was raped and fell pregnant before killing herself and her child.
