The longest beach on the Cowal Peninsula, Ardentinny Beach is a popular spot for picnickers, hikers and families. Sitting on the shores of Loch Long, the beach was once the chosen landing ground for Viking invaders and was used as a training ground by the Royal Navy for the landings at Normandy during WWII.
