An Lochan Uaine – named the ‘Green Loch’ by locals – is one of the most beautiful of the many lochs in the Aviemore area. Sitting beside a mountain known as the ‘Angel’s Peak’, it is a great spot to relax and take in some of the best scenery Scotland has to offer. The green appearance of the loch is likely caused by reflected light from the trees that line it, although the legend is that it takes on that colour because pixies wash their clothes in it.
