The Space

A modern interpretation of a traditional crofter’s dwelling, the cottage’s rugged exterior conceals exquisitely designed, tactile furnishings. Sliding glass walls make the living space part of the landscape beyond. From here, guests can relax and enjoy the panoramic views.

A luxurious balance of modern Scandinavian, mid-century and Scottish design, our interiors acknowledge the legacy of the Norse-Gaels who settled western Scotland in the 9th century. This mixed heritage is still traceable today in local words, surnames and place names. Our own name, 57 Nord, pays homage to these Scandinavian influences as well as to our stunning location: 57 degrees’ latitude in the northern hemisphere.
