We set of early afternoon with the plan of getting up on to the summit of Spidean a’Choire Leith for sunset. At around 700m it started snowing heavily and by the time we reached the Eastern summit, we were immersed in full on blizzard conditions. With the poor visibility and daylight dwindling, we decided continuing would be risky. Instead we stayed put and enjoyed the weather and the rare moments when the clouds opened up to rays of light and glimpses of the Liathach ridge and surrounding mountains.
